Arlene Ruth Reed

Arlene Ruth Bryant Reed of Stony Point, North Carolina passed away at age 80 on October 8, 2016 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She was born on April 10, 1936 in South Charleston, West Virginia to the late Glen H. Bryant and Vella Marie Bryant of Monroe, NC. On June 28, 1959 she married Fred Vernon Reed, who preceded her in death on August 20, 2016. She is survived by five children: Scott Andrew Reed and his wife Becky of Mt. Pleasant, NC, his children Alexandra (and her son Jaxon), and Andrew, David Warren Reed and his wife Jennifer of Charlotte, NC, and their son Henry, Lisa Ann Reed and her husband Eric Wolfe of Boise, ID, Julie Lynn Parlier and her husband Brian of Midland, NC, and their children Reed and Mallory, and Jeffrey Glen Reed and his wife Wendy of Monroe, NC, and their children Cooper and Greyson. She is also survived by a brother, Ronald Lee Bryant and his wife Carol of Canyon Lake, TX. Arlene graduated from Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago associated with Northwestern University with a degree in nursing. She served as a registered nurse in various capacities and locations throughout her career. She particularly enjoyed pediatric care and retired from Providence Pediatrics in Matthews, NC in 1989.
