Betty Curtis Foulks, a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and community servant, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 10, 1945, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Betty’s life was marked by tireless dedication to her family, her community, and her passions.
Betty earned her Business Degree from Kings College in Charlotte, NC, a foundation that served her well throughout her professional endeavors. She began her career in payroll for Belk Store Services, where she worked diligently for several years. Later, she joined her husband, Wayne, in managing Wayne’s Carpet Cleaning and Repair Service, a partnership that spanned over three decades and exemplified her commitment to both family and business.
Her involvement in community and youth activities was substantial and deeply impactful. She served as Secretary of her Neighborhood Association, her Children’s PTAs, the Youth Bowling Association, and Harding University High School Marching Band over the years. Her unwavering dedication earned her Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Youth Bowling Association and the Marching Band, recognizing her invaluable contributions and years of service.
Betty’s warm personality was defined by her deep love and care for her children and grandchildren, as well as the profound affection she held for her husband, Wayne. She found joy in knitting and crocheting, often creating beautiful works that carried the warmth of her spirit. She had a passion for reading biographies, particularly of her favorite figures in entertainment, and delighted in attending live theater productions. Additionally, she was a fan of various soap operas, finding comfort and connection in their ongoing stories.
Family memories were especially treasured, including the holidays and vacations shared together, which remain a testament to the bond they all cherished. Betty was preceded in death by her father, James Elwood Curtis, her mother, Minnie Curtis, her brother Charlie Curtis, and her son Randy Foulks.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne Foulks; her son Lane Foulks and wife Amy; grandchildren Alex, Ward, and Lillian; daughter Allison Levinsky and husband Chris Levinsky; granddaughter Nadya; Randy's wife Jackie Foulks; her sister Peggy Brooks; brothers Wayne Curtis and Paul Curtis, wife Kathy Curtis; and numerous nieces and nephews who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
A visitation will be held on March 19, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Stephenson & Gaskin Funeral Services, located at 14617 Lawyers Rd, #B, Matthews, NC 28104. Following this, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same location from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering an opportunity for friends and family to honor and remember the remarkable life Betty lived.
Betty Curtis Foulks’ legacy of love, service, and commitment will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered in the hearts of her family and community.
