Betty Womble, 72, of Matthews, passed away Wednesday evening, February 9, 2011 at home while in the loving care of her husband and Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care. Formally of Richmond, Virginia, she is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Callaway, mother, Gladys Cook Callaway, sister, Patricia Edwards, and nephew, Scott Edwards. Her immediate family includes her husband, Wray Womble of Matthews, and her children, David Craig Wilson and his wife, Laura, of Chapel Hill, NC, Kimberly Kay Lea of Houston, Texas, and Laura Womble Mays and her husband, Dr. Nicholas D. Mays, of Charleston, South Carolina.
