Billy Gene Clarke

Billy Gene Clarke, 78, of Monroe, went to be with the Lord Monday, November 13, 2017. He was born March 24, 1939, in Northumberland County, Virginia, to the late Otis Howard Clarke and Mable Jones Clarke. Billy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an Eagle Scout and love to hunt white tail dear. Billy retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the U.S.Navy after 22 years of service and also retired from Traveler's Insurance as a Boiler Inspector. His immediate family includes his wife of 52 years, Sandy Jones Clarke; two sons Mark Wayne Clarke and Kenny Clarke; his grandson, and pride and joy, Caleb Clarke; a brother Robert Clarke; three sisters Anna Jett, Mary Ann Grove and Dot Walkup; and many other family members. Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Love Baptist Church with the Reverend Don Thompson officiating.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Love Baptist Church, 707 Deese Rd., Monroe, NC 28110 or Boy Scout Troop 125, c/o Shiloh Baptist Church, 2301 N.
