Charlotte

Charles Odell Mason III, a beloved father, Pop Pop, brother, son, friend, and certified hustler was born on January 11, 1969, in Bronx, New York. He lived a life characterized by kindness, warm relationships, and a dedication to his family, friends, and  career. Charles passed away on August 26, 2024 in Charlotte, North Carolina, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by many.

Over the course of his career, Charles climbed the corporate ladder at Wells Fargo, where he dedicated over ten years of service. His journey began in customer service and progressed into the fraud department, showcasing his commitment to helping others and ensuring their security. He worked most weekends as a bouncer at McBonies where he also was known to ensure the security of others…and would fold a man into a paper airplane if he had to. That being said, many who had the privilege of knowing him became family. Charles was known for his kind soul and had a remarkable ability to connect with people; he truly never met a stranger.

Charles had a variety of interests that made his life vibrant. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, which brought him immense joy. His passions included firearms, WWE, and an enthusiasm for watches and shoes. He was also a devoted Eagles/Panthers/Raiders fan, and often found enjoying the games in the company of friends and loved ones.

Charles is survived by his loving children; Jazalyn Sanchez (Jacob), Charles Mason IV, and Mikayla Jenkins (Matt). He was a proud grandfather to Dominic Sanchez, Mia Sanchez, Charles Mason V, and a baby girl on the way. He also leaves behind his father, Charles Mason II; his sisters, Carmen Byas and CeCe Mason; his nieces, Tianna Byas , Taylor Grant, Maya Tyre; and the mother of his children, Rebekah Delgado.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Casina Mason; his sister, Charlayne Mason; and his niece, Brandee Jaynes.

Charles Odell Mason III will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever remember the warmth of his spirit, the big bear hugs, and the love he shared with those around him.
