Claudia Louise Peaseley, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2021. She was born on October 11, 1952 in Greenville, South Carolina, the oldest child of the late Charles Duncan Peaseley, Junior and Faith Cochrane Peaseley. Although born in Greenville, she lived most of her life in Charlotte.
Claudia graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1971. She worked in the food service industry, primarily elementary school cafeterias. Claudia always had a smile on her face and brought joy to everyone that knew her. She absolutely loved children, especially delighting in her nieces and nephews and their children. Claudia also loved serving in the children’s Sunday school at church. She always looked forward to family beach trips, treats from Starbucks, outings to Chick-fil-A, visits to the mountains to see her best friend, Elizabeth, and going to Target, “just to look around.” Claudia eagerly anticipated the next holiday, birthday, or special event, and could be counted on to arrive early. Her family will miss her deeply.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Robert E. Peaseley; brother-in-law, Galen Carter; and nephew Joseph Carter.
She is survived by her siblings, Caroline Peaseley Carter and Walter Peaseley (Liz); sister-in-law, Felicia Peaseley; nieces and nephews, Robert C. Peaseley, Melissa Peaseley, Rebecca Carter Josey (Adam), Ben Carter, Faith Peaseley Marin (Angel), Ann Peaseley Graves (Luke), and Isabel Peaseley; niece-in-law, Mary Carter; as well as, many cousins, seven great-nieces and great-nephews, and her beloved Westminster Presbyterian family.
A visitation will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 101 Colville Road, Charlotte North Carolina, on Thursday, October 7 from 10:00AM-11:00AM, with a service immediately following. Graveside burial will take place at Sharon Memorial Park immediately following the service.
