David L. Fox, affectionately known as "Fox," graced this world with his vibrant spirit from September 7, 1963, until his journey peacefully came to a close on February 5, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born in the enchanting town of Asheville, North Carolina, he carried a unique charm that could light up any room, along with a tangible zest for life that echoed in every chuckle and grin he shared.
In a life woven with an abundance of experiences, David was a master of his craft, renowned for his remarkable ability to mend and fix nearly anything that crossed his path. The tools of his trade were extensions of his hands, skillfully used to bring comfort and care into the lives of those around him. Whether it was tinkering away in his workshop or a spontaneous camping trip filled with laughter and fishing tales, he relished each moment spent with family. Memories were forged around the warmth of pizza nights that would fill the air with enticing aromas and joyous conversations, moments that are now cherished treasures in the hearts of his loved ones.
A proud father and grandfather, David personified the essence of love and playfulness. He was known to be a goofball with a heart as big as his personality—a tender contradiction to his stubbornness akin to that of a mule. His pride gleaned brightly through the eyes of his children, James Fox, Sable Fox (Jumon), Alex Fox, and Ricky Richardson (Kacie), and extended into the growing families of his cherished grandchildren: Elijah Fox, Rayshaun Baxter, JayShaun Baxter, KaLeighia Sowell, Brynleigh Richardson, Saylor Fox, Oakleigh Fox, Callie Richardson, and Everleigh Fox. He reveled in telling tales of their triumphs and aspirations, pearls of joy that decorated his days.
David’s presence was as vibrant as the life he led—one that he perceived as an exhilarating ride down the fast lane. He lived unabashedly, leaving indelible marks on the souls he encountered, whether good or bad. His spirit, unrepentant and fiercely loving, transcended the mundane, urging all to embrace life without regrets and to celebrate every fleeting moment. In the music of his laughter and the sincerity of his gestures, the essence of a legend emerges, one that continues to resonate in memories shared amongst friends and family.
As a proud brother to three sisters and two brothers, and an adoring uncle to twelve nieces and nephews, David loved wholeheartedly, embracing a family that was as spirited as he.
Though he has departed from this earthly realm, his legacy remains etched in the hearts of those who carry his spirit forward. We remember David L. Fox for all that he was—a craftsman, a jokester, a proud father and grandfather, and a piece of joy that embraced life with courage and an unrelenting love. Today, we hold dear not only the echoes of his laughter and the warmth of his heart but the profound impact he had on all our lives. Rest well, dear Fox; you will forever be missed, but never forgotten.
“It’s never goodbye but see ya later we love you dad”
