Dominick A. Valeri, lovingly known as Don, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, in Indian Trail, North Carolina, at the age of 88. Born on September 15, 1936, in Trenton, New Jersey, Don lived a life rich in love, laughter, and gardening—a passion he nurtured throughout his years.
Don demonstrated unwavering dedication during his service in the United States Navy, exemplifying the values of commitment and bravery. These qualities echoed throughout his life, particularly in the warmth he shared with family and friends. He was a man known for his great sense of humor and unique sarcasm, which brought smiles to the faces of those around him. His ability to lighten any mood made him a treasured companion.
Don's green thumb was well-known to all who knew him. His love for gardening was not just a hobby but a source of joy that he willingly shared with family and friends. He grew the best tomatoes ever, which were often a highlight during gatherings and family meals.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia (Murfit) Valeri, their sons Donald J. (DJ) and his wife Terrie; Joseph Valeri and his wife Teresa; and John Valeri and his wife Pam and family. Don was a proud grandfather to Christina and her husband Justin Wood; Michael Valeri and his wife Sarah; Catherine Valeri; and Elizabeth and her husband Matt Keyes. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Kayla Matera, Kinsey Wood, Eli Valeri, Jonah Valeri, Landon Keyes, and Addison Keyes.
Don is deeply missed by all whose lives he touched with his kindness and humor. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, who carry his spirit in their hearts.
