Donald Ray "Don" Buchanan, 69, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Thursday morning, September 1, 2011. Don was born December 16, 1941, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Arthur James Buchanan and Mildred Blankenship Buchanan. His immediate family includes his children, Rebecca Allen of Charlotte, Kenneth "Kenny" Buchanan of Cornelius, Deborah Bailey of Charlotte, Donald Buchanan, Jr. of Midland, Cristopher Simril of Lancaster, SC, and Eddie Simirl of Charlotte; and ten grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made in Don's name to Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care.
