Elaine Delores Skiva Bardsen, 74, of Monroe, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 4, 2011, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 14, 1937, in Aliquipa, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of Raymond Joseph Skiva and Mary Faychak Skiva. She will be remembered by her many friends in the Miami, Florida, area for her many years of service with the Miami Police Department. Her immediate family includes her husband, James P. "Jim" Bardsen, of Monroe; her children, Carolyn Kean, of Naples, Florida, and Thomas Lewis, of Pineville; her sister, Patty Cosco, of Aliquipa, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren. -
