Elizabeth Powell Huffstetler, a vivacious spirit and devoted matriarch, passed peacefully on May 21, 2025, in Gaston, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving daughter, Robin Tucker, and Granddaughter Angela Alvarez. Born on July 16, 1933, in Lilesville, North Carolina, Elizabeth’s remarkable journey through life was marked by an unwavering zest for living and a flair for the extraordinary.

Known as a true diva, Elizabeth embodied charm and elegance. She was someone who never went to sleep without her eyelashes on, showcasing her belief that one should always look their best – a testament to her vibrant personality. Her extraordinary presence graced the very first spa in Charlotte, where she took on the role of the first model. Throughout her life, she became a familiar face in numerous Charlotte papers, captivating audiences with her beauty and grace.

Elizabeth was much more than a model; she was a dedicated advocate for health and wellness. Her whole life revolved around exercise, and she found joy in maintaining an active lifestyle, proudly embracing workouts and kickboxing for many years. Her commitment to fitness inspired those around her, leaving a legacy of vitality and health.

She found joy in her family, who cherished her deeply. Elizabeth leaves behind her beloved daughter, Robin Tucker, and dear granddaughter, Bonnie Tarman, who is married to Jason. She was the proud grandmother to several great grandchildren, including Sidney Turner (Cody), Haley Parker (Will), Jaxson Manus, McKenzie Tarman, Cody Lankford, and Angela Alvarez (Pepe), along with cherished step grandchildren Michelle Sullivan (Brian), Tasha Trull (Chris), and Marc Humphries. The love Elizabeth shared extended to many nieces and nephews, and great great grandchildren who will remember her spirit fondly.

Elizabeth's heart swelled with pride as she nurtured Traci Biggers and her three sisters, who have all passed away, offering guidance and love throughout their lives. She also embraced Carol Farrar, her stepdaughter, adding to the tapestry of family that defined her world.

Elizabeth is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved parents, Jim Powell and Minnie Powell, as well as her son, David Lankford, along with brothers Ben, Bobby, James and sister Virgina, Step Daughter Joy Goforth (Surviving Danny). Their memories, intertwined with hers, will forever be enshrined in the hearts of those she touched.

Elizabeth Powell Huffstetler leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and beauty. Her larger-than-life personality, dedication to family, and passion for life will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered with love.
