Fred James Hogshead, 78, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord June 30, 2016. He was born May 15, 1938, in Corpus Christi, TX, the son of the late Gholson Myers Hogshead and Adrienne Baxter Hogshead. Fred was an avid golfer, loved the beach and shagging. He was also quite a jokester and loved to read. However, his family was important to him. He was a proud "papa" to his grandchildren Fred's immediate family includes his wife, Linda Hogshead; his children, Edward G. Hogshead, Mary Shannon McDonald and her husband,Gene, and Fred J. Hogshead,Jr. and his wife,Amanda; a brother, Jim Hogshead and his wife, Ann; a sister, Adrienne Jenkins; five grandchildren; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Michelle Gardner; and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests that to honor Fred, donations be made to Novant Hospice and Palliative Care. -
