Gary's immediate family includes his wife, Cynthia (Cindy) Bruton of Charlotte; his mother, Alma Bruton; his daughters, April Bruton of Indian Trail and Amanda Ogle of Camden, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Savannah Bruton, Sawyer Watts, and Andrew Watts.
