George Lee Holmes, 87, of Charlotte, passed away February 6, 2012, at home, while in the loving care of his daughter, Sondra (Sandy) Benjamin. Mr. Holmes was born in New York, New York, January 7, 1925, and was the son of Raymond Holmes and Lucille Dabney Holmes. During World War II, he proudly served in the United States Army. Following the war, he was employed by the City of New York were he worked until retirement. -
