Gregory "Gregg" Dicus, born on August 18, 1974, in Charlotte, North Carolina, passed peacefully at his home on July 24, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Gregg will be deeply missed not only for his contributions to the fields of carpentry and sales, where he was known for his diligence, but also for the warmth he brought to his personal relationships. Gregg is survived by his loving mother, Janice Dicus, and his brother, Jeffrey (Kristi) and beloved niece Savannah. Aunt Ruth Vercelli, cousin Jason Vercelli, Kasiah Vercelli. Aunt Vivian Carpenter (Steve), Todd Brunson, and Jill Brunson. Aunt Nell Dicus He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Dicus, who went before him in life.
An alumnus of Myers Park High School, Gregg was a proud member of the tennis team during his formative years. He later attended Brevard College, further nurturing his inquisitive nature through learning and exploration. His curiosity extended beyond the classroom; he loved to express himself by drawing and had a lifelong passion for watching documentaries, which fed his inquisitive spirit and broadened his understanding of the world.
Gregg's personality was characterized by his reliability and his eagerness to assist friends in need, qualities that earned him the respect and affection of those around him. He possessed a zest for life, enjoying the great outdoors through fishing and bike riding, and he found joy in playing disc golf, a hobby that connected him with nature and friends alike.
A devoted sports enthusiast, Gregg's interests spanned a variety of athletic pursuits, all of which showcased his spirited and active lifestyle. He proudly shared his enthusiasm for sports and the outdoors with family and friends, often organizing outings that fostered camaraderie and enjoyment.
As we reflect on the life of Gregory Dicus, we celebrate a man whose commitment to his work and loved ones was unwavering. His inquisitive mind, reliable character, and love for the outdoors will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
