Irene Esther Whitlow, 88, of Charlotte, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011. She was born August 10, 1922, in Ashe County, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Brack Osborne and Belzona Spencer Osborne. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnn Braswell, her son, Charles Allen, and her grandson, Edward Davis, II. Mrs. Whitlow's immediate family includes her husband of 40 years, David S. Whitlow of Charlotte; her daughter, Barbara Frye, and her husband, Joe, of Charlotte; her sister, Lola Dolinger, of Virginia; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
