James Henry Ford, 90, surrounded by his loving family, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2016. He was born in Del Rio, Tennessee on August 8, 1925. He later moved to Laurens, SC, where he met and married the love of his life, Virginia Wilkie. (Ford) He held several jobs and eventually owned and operated his own business, from which he retired. He never met a stranger and no matter where he went, he managed to find someone to witness to about the Lord. He loved God, his Bible, and his family. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Virginia W. Ford, sons James Ford Jr (Janet) , David Ford and daughters Gail Lackey, Rita Ackerman (Ken), Ruby Douglas (Rev David Douglas), Lana Brown, and 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Many thanks to the staff at Pineville Rehab for their loving care and kindness. Also, thanks to the Charlotte Hospice for all the wonderful care in his final days. We will also be forever grateful for Lou Ferrigno who was a Godsend, and befriended Dad and Mom for the last 7 years with so much love and compassion. Dad was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. - -
