James (Jim) Carson Stroupe, Jr, 84, of Charlotte, NC, passed from this life to his eternal home with Jesus on June 5, 2023.  Jim was an Army Reserve Veteran.  He served as Vice President of Prime Equipment SE division and was employed in the construction equipment sales and rental business for 39 years.  Over the years he enjoyed boating, fishing and water skiing on the weekends with friends and family, playing couples bridge, golfing, and visiting Litchfield Beach often. Jim enjoyed passing out self-made CD’s of various musical genres to friends and family.  He was a dedicated Christian and loved Jesus.  He faithfully followed the instruction of the Great Commission, spreading the gospel to friends and family. He served as a Deacon, sang in the choir and enjoyed the lifelong friends he met in various Sunday School classes.   Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Barnett Stroupe, his 3 children, Lorie (Dennis) Kimes of Davidson, NC, Scott Stroupe of Ft Lauderdale, FL, and Ginny (Michael) Grenda, of Charlotte, NC.  He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Hannah Wheeler, Matthew Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler, Tyler Kimes, Jessica Kimes, Makenzie Kimes, and his younger sister, Phoebe Lee.  Jim was loved by all who had the opportunity to know him.  His sweet spirit and love of Jesus was evident in all he did.  We are so thankful he got to hear these words from Jesus, “Well done my good and faithful servant”.  

Celebration of Life will be held at Central Church, 5301 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC at 2 pm Thursday, June 8, 2023.
