James Thomas Gettys, 77, of Crumpler, North Carolina, but formerly of Charlotte, died in Charlotte May 3, 2013. Born in Mecklenburg County,North Carolina, he was the son of the late John William Gettys and Vivian Bassett Gettys. His immediate family includes his children, Carolyn Nowaczewski, Tom Gettys, and Joy Witherspoon; his brothers, John William (Bill) Gettys, and Barry Gettys; his sisters, Patricia Carolyn Jordan and Elizabeth Helms; eight grandchildren. -
