Johnny F. Vanhoy, affectionally known as John, was born on January 4,1945 and he died peacefully on September 28, 2025. His earthly journey had come to an end, his health challenges were over, as he was welcomed into his eternal home, Heaven. As a devoted husband, father and grandfather, John's life was characterized by a calm and gentle spirit and a steadfast commitment to serving others.

Throughout his adult years, John dedicated himself to his career as a technical consultant, lending his expertise to various retail companies and later to Bank of America until his retirement in 2015. His technical skills were only outshined by his generous heart, always willing to go the extra mile to help others, especially his family.

John's greatest joy was found not in the limelight but in the quiet moments of service. On Sundays he found purpose in serving alongside Debbie in Preschool Ministry. He was faithful week after week showing up to teach a class of three-year-olds about the love of Jesus. With his consistency and familiar face, he became a calm and comforting presence in the lives of little ones and their families.

A true music lover, John found strength and solace in melodies. His love of Christian music led him to participate in choir practice every Wednesday night. Sundays were especially cherished as he worshipped through hymns, anthems and praise music. Through the words he loved to sing he found hope, the reassurance of God's presence and promises which he held onto ,even on the hardest of days.

John's character was defined by his calm demeanor, a slow to anger nature and a profound desire to impact and influence his family. He was a loving husband to Debbie and a devoted father to his daughters: Regina La Vecchia, Xavier Vanhoy, Leslie Prewette and Lindsay Wilson. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren, Alex and Jack La Vecchia , Hudson, Hadley and Hensley Prewette, who will carry on the life lessons of love and kindness he modeled for them.

He is survived by his wife , daughters, grandchildren , brother Billy Vanhoy, sisters Louise Mathis, Ruby Stoker and Peggy Goodman. John was preceded in death by his parents , James and Pearl Vanhoy as well as his sister Betty Cranford and brothers James, Lee, Richard and Tommy Vanhoy.

As we remember John we celebrate a remarkable man who touched lives with his quiet strength, faithfulness, and an unwavering desire to make life easier for those he loved.
