Kimberly Martin Biggs, lovingly known as Kim, was born on February 24, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, and passed away on August 6, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Kim, known for her love, dedication and bright spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
A devoted wife and mother, Kim found immense joy in her family. She was married to Mark Biggs, with whom she shared countless memories filled with laughter and adventure. Together, they traveled, rescued countless animals, enjoyed scuba diving, trying every new breakfast restaurant each weekend, and created treasured moments on their boat with friends and loved ones on lake Wylie. Kim took great pride in her daughter, Kristin Biggs, celebrating every success and milestone in her life including her favorite of her daughter’s accomplishments, becoming a dentist. Whether working long hours on school projects or planning the most elaborate birthday parties and New Year’s Eve celebrations, Kim’s heart brimmed with joy at every opportunity to support and uplift those she loved.
In addition to her family, Kim had a profound impact on her community. She served as a Girl Scout leader, volunteered at Catherine’s House and walked dogs at the local shelter, showcasing her big heart and compassion for all living beings. Beyond her service to others, Kim excelled in her career in sales and management, where her strong work ethic and commitment brought her numerous awards and accolades.
Kim’s educational journey took her from UNCC, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree, to Pfeiffer University, where she achieved her MBA. This dedication to learning mirrored her determined personality—she was a true role model and an inspiration to many.
Known by friends as a Pied Piper of gathering friends, Kim had an innate ability to draw people in with her humor, kindness, and loving nature. Her vibrant spirit was complemented by her unwavering Christian faith, which guided her through life and provided strength during challenging times.
Kim is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Biggs; her beloved daughter, Kristin Biggs; her brother, Joe Martin; sister-in-law, Cindy Martin; sister, Julie Martin; and her nephew, Joey Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Milly Martin, and her nephew, Bradley Martin.
The legacy of Kim’s love, laughter, and dedication will endure in the hearts of all she touched. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her remarkable life on August 23, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church of Belmont 102 S Central Ave. Belmont NC 28012 where there will be a visitation from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
