Linda Gail Munoz (née Showler), born January 20, 1947, in Glendale, California, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, in Monroe, North Carolina. She will be remembered for her warm spirit and the loving care she bestowed upon her family and friends throughout her life.
Linda had a particular gift for making holidays memorable, always adding a special touch that made celebrations joyous and heartwarming. Her beautiful Easter baskets and Valentine’s Day presents were cherished annual traditions that always brought smiles to her daughters. The glow of Christmas was made even brighter by her passion for decorating, a labor of love that embraced the true spirit of the season. Linda gave gifts from her heart, always carefully considering gifts with meaning.
Gardening was one of Linda’s lifelong passions. Whether tending to the flower beds alone or alongside her husband Ray, she found peace and fulfillment in nurturing the gardens of each home they owned. This shared hobby was just one of many bonds that deepened their enduring 56-year partnership.
Linda and Ray treasured their times together in Charleston, South Carolina, their favorite vacation destination. They delighted in exploring garden tours and dining at their preferred waterfront restaurants, creating countless loving memories against the backdrop of serene waters and southern charm.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Ray; her daughter Monique Thomas and son-in-law Richard Thomas; her daughter Desiree Sherrill and son-in-law Jason Sherrill; and her beloved grandchildren Ava and Ryder Sherrill. She is also survived by her brother Stephen Showler, sister-in-law Nena Showler, sister Vicky Showler, brother Phil Showler, and sister-in-law Karen Showler.
Her family and friends will remember Linda as a woman whose kindness and caring touched all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to share in her life. Linda’s gentle presence and generous heart will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
