Con profundo amor y tristeza, compartimos el fallecimiento de Maria Victoria Gonzales Perez de Rubio, quien partió a la presencia del Señor el 8 de enero de 2026 en Monroe, Carolina del Norte, a la edad de 95 años.

Maria Victoria nació en Lima, Perú, y creció en Callao, donde creó una vida basada en la fe, la familia y una fortaleza inquebrantable. Fue una mujer orgullosa de sus raíces peruanas, elegante en su manera de ser y fuerte en espíritu, valores que transmitió a cada generación de su familia.

Le precedieron en la muerte su amado esposo, Teodoro Rubio, y su hijo, Ruben Rubio. Deja en vida a su querida hija, Cynthia Fuentes; a sus nietos, Sarah Tamayo, Ana Fuentes-Medina y Fernando Fuentes; y a sus cinco bisnietos, Giana Tamayo, Carlos Tamayo, Adrian Beato, Isaac Tamayo y Juliana Medina, quienes fueron una fuente inmensa de alegría para ella. También le sobrevive su hermana, Aida Checa, junto a muchos otros familiares y seres queridos.

Maria Victoria fue una mujer fuerte y resiliente que siempre puso a su familia en primer lugar. Fue una católica devota, guiada por su fe y su amor a Dios. Tenía un carácter alegre, pícara y llena de personalidad, su presencia iluminaba cualquier lugar al que llegaba. Fue profundamente querida por todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

Se llevará a cabo una ceremonia tradicional el domingo 11 de enero de 2026 a las 3:00 p.m. en Stephenson & Gaskin Funeral Services, ubicado en 14617 W Lawyers Rd., Ste B, Matthews, Carolina del Norte.

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Maria Victoria Gonzales Perez de Rubio, who went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2026, in Monroe, North Carolina, at the age of 95.

Born in Lima, Peru, and raised in Callao, Maria Victoria was a proud Peruvian woman whose life was rooted in faith, family, and resilience. She carried herself with elegance and strength and passed those values down through generations.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Teodoro Rubio, and her son, Ruben Rubio. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Cynthia Fuentes; her grandchildren, Sarah Tamayo, Ana Fuentes-Medina, and Fernando Fuentes; and her five great-grandchildren, Giana Tamayo, Carlos Tamayo, Adrian Beato, Isaac Tamayo, and Juliana Medina, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her sister, Aida Checa, and many cherished family members and friends.

Maria Victoria was a strong, resilient woman who always put her family first. She was a devoted Catholic, grounded in prayer and faith, and she lived a life of service and love. She was known for her spunky, spicy personality, her sharp wit, and her ability to light up any room. She was deeply loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
