In Loving Memory of Pastor Oscar Hugo Muñoz Vallejos February 12, 1960 – June 13, 2025
With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend - Pastor Oscar Hugo Muñoz Vallejos. On June 13, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with post-covid complications, the Lord called him home. Though our hearts grieve, we rejoice in knowing he is resting in peace with the God he served so faithfully.
In 2021, Oscar faced a life-threatening covid illness that caused both lungs to collapse. By God’s grace, he survived, though left with lasting damage. He lived the years that followed with unwavering courage and faith, inspiring all around him. Even in weakness, his spirit was strong. Every extra day with him was a gift.
Born in Lota, Chile, Oscar began his journey as an electrician, working deep in the mines with strength and resilience. During his preaching often used remarkable phrase "Three Kilometers under the earth and nine beneath the ocean. He describes the extreme conditions he faced with resilience His path took him to Brazil, where he began serving pastors and helping build churches. There, he studied theology and embraced his call to ministry.
In 2001, Oscar came to the United States and dedicated his life to serving churches and communities across NY, NJ, and NC. In 2013, he planted Iglesia Cristiana Alpha y Omega in Charlotte, NC, and was anointed as a pastor in 2014. He never stopped growing—becoming a counselor, leading ministries, opening a second church during hospitalization, and even planting two missions in Mexico. This year, his church became a sending church—proof that his legacy lives on.
Pastor Oscar was a servant leader who gave his all. He balanced work, ministry, and family life with tireless dedication. He mentored, counseled, evangelized, and led by example. His open-door home was a place of refuge, warmth, prayer, and fresh coffee. He cradled every child in the church with love and left lasting impressions on countless lives.
Even when covid ended his ability to play soccer, he coached the church team to victory—joyfully pouring into the next generation. He loved scripture, lifelong learning, and finding joy in life’s simplest moments.
His proudest accomplishments were not in titles, but in walking his daughters down the aisle, providing for his family, and faithfully fulfilling God’s call. He was a father, a grandfather, a shepherd, and a builder of people.
Pastor Oscar’s life was a living sermon—a testimony of love, faith, and perseverance. We are forever grateful for his life and legacy. Though we miss him deeply, we find comfort in the promise that he is now in the arms of his Savior.
Well done, good and faithful servant. You will be missed but never forgotten.
We are deeply grateful for your prayers, your presence, and the love you have always shown toward him and our family.
With Gratitude in Christ,
The Muñoz Family.
