Patricia Crump Spivey, of Mint Hill, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Pat was 80 years old and had battled Alzheimer's disease for the last eight years. She is now at peace and has been made whole. 2Corinthians 5:8 "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord", and this brings her family great comfort.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents (LP and Lela Crump), her brother "Bub" Crump, her sister Carolyn Hill and most recently her husband of 49 years Thomas L Spivey Sr. She is survived by her daughter Tracy Lankford (Trey) of Monroe NC, step son Tom Spivey Jr (Kim) of Weddington NC, step daughter Luanne Stokes (Jerry) of Stallings NC, grandchildren Robby, Andrew, Erin, Ryan, Jarrod, Meagan and her great grandchildren Ander, Ty, Maret, Kaylee, Saylor, Easton, Camden, Fynn, Sylvee, and Bennet. She always loved the "babies" of the family and cared so much for each and every one of them.
Administrative and office work is what Pat was known for over the years. From the stock market with EF Hutton, to a local countertop company Laminated Top, to Clear Creek Elementary School, she could be found doing paperwork, answering phones and helping with all sorts of tasks. She loved flowers, music and sitting outside on the porch swing "watching the neighbors". What wonderful neighbors she had! The family is so appreciative to the great friends that surrounded her on Anette Avenue.
Pat loved Jesus and prayed for her family daily. She journaled much of her thoughts and prayers for everyone and always told us to "give it to God" whenever we had a problem. She was blessed with strong church families over the years and when she was unable to attend, she watched services on television. She and Tom also loved making, painting and decorating bird houses and many people in Mint Hill and surrounding areas were gifted one (or two) of these over the years. Each birdhouse had a cross on the back. She would say that was to show that they were people of faith and that they loved God.
The last three months, Pat was cared for by an amazing team at Monroe Rehab Center. Angela, Annie, Tonya, India and James were the absolute best! The family would like to express our gratitude for the love they gave "Miss Pat" and for being with her and Tracy on her last day.
We appreciate the services of Stephenson & Gaskin Funeral Home during this time, and per Pat's wishes, there will not be a formal service. In lieu of flowers, her memory can be honored by donating to Liberty HomeCare & Hospice Services 119 W Wade Street Wadesboro, NC 28170 A special thank you to Liberty for all they did for the family and for Miss Pat.
