Phil Paschal, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected community servant, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Matthews, NC. Born on November 25, 1949, in Siler City, North Carolina, Phil lived a life rich in service, love, and devotion to those around him.
Phil’s journey was marked by commitment and valor. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honored with the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in a combat zone, a testament to his courage and dedication. After his military service, he pursued further education and earned an Associate’s Degree in Police Science from Central Piedmont Community College.
He devoted 14 years to the Mecklenburg County Police Department, serving his community with integrity and compassion. Afterwards, Phil channeled his spirit of service into the business world as an insurance agent and owner of The Paschal Agency for 34 years, where he was known not just as a businessman but as a trusted friend and advisor to many.
Phil was a man of a larger-than-life personality, always known as the "Master of Ceremonies," bringing joy and connection wherever he went. He never missed an opportunity to help others, touching countless lives through his kindness and infectious enthusiasm. He found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who adored him deeply. Alongside his passions for golf, fishing, rodeos, and music, Phil's heart was full when surrounded by his loved ones.
His proudest accomplishments were the deep bonds he forged—not only with family and friends but also with the many clients and individuals whose lives he positively impacted. Those fortunate enough to know Phil remember him as the life of every gathering, a man whose laughter and generosity remain unforgettable.
Phil is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Marti Paschal; his children Kim Winters, Ray Paschal (Amanda), Jeannie Davis (John), and Ashley Paschal; his brother John Paschal (Suzy); his beloved grandchildren - Amber, Haley, Alexis, Morgan, Maddi, Cooper, and Will, and two great-grandchildren. They will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience.
Phil was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Holder, and father, Robert Paschal. Their memories live on in the stories and the love Phil held close throughout his life.
The community mourns the loss of a remarkable man whose imprint on the hearts of his family and friends will endure forever. Phil Paschal’s spirit shines on in the warmth he gave and the lives he touched so profoundly. His story—a beacon of courage, love, and unwavering devotion—will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude.
