Ronald McGuirt passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025. He was born on February 24, 1943 in Monroe, North Carolina to Grace McGuirt and Ney McGuirt. . He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.

Ronny dedicated many years of his life to Fruehauf Trucking Company, retiring from a career that exemplified his strong work ethic and commitment. Yet, it was not just his professional life that defined him; he was a man who found joy in the simple moments, often found sitting in his garage, engaging in heartfelt conversations with neighbors while generously sharing treats with their beloved dogs. These small acts of kindness were emblematic of Ronnie's character.

His heart knew no bounds when it came to his family. Ronny was most proud of his 57-year marriage to his beloved wife, Anita McGuirt, who predeceased him. Together they cultivated a loving home, raising their daughters, Melissa Hagan and Ronda Dormon, and nurturing their legacy through grandchildren. Ronny took immense pride in his family, often reflecting on how blessed he felt to witness the love and growth of his girls and grandkids. They were the joy of his life, serving as a constant reminder of the importance of family bonds.

In addition to his familial devotion, Ronny held a deep passion for selling and collecting Nascar memorabilia. This hobby brought him satisfaction and was often a topic of lively discussion and connection with others who shared similar interests.

His memory will be celebrated by his daughter Melissa Hagan, son in law John Hagan, daughter Ronda Dormon, grandsons Ben Hagan, Sam Hagan, Logan Dormon and granddaughter Lindsey Dormon. The imprint he left on their lives is woven into the fabric of their everyday existence, a reminder of the love and lessons he imparted.

Though Ronny has departed this world, the love he shared and the joy he brought will resonate within his family for generations to come. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as those who knew him carry forth his spirit of kindness, generosity, and dedication to family.

Ronny wanted to be cremated and his ashes will be combined with Anitas and spread together at a location they both enjoyed throughout their lives.  There is no planned public memorial service. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Ronnys name to the Charlotte Humane Society.
