Mrs. Saundra King Pons, 81, passed away Tuesday August 30, 2022 at Novant Health Medical Center Mint Hill. 

A Memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1225 E. Morehead St., Charlotte, NC. 

Saundra, a Charlotte native, was born November 28, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Inez King. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 47 years, Frederic H. Pons. 

Saundra was a graduate of Harding High School and Kings Business College. A lifetime member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Saundra and Dick were active members for many years. Saundra spent time enjoying her family, her five grandsons, her extended family and visiting with friends from her church, work and neighbors included. She retired from a career as Office Administrator from Osram Sylvania in Charlotte. Saundra never met a stranger and was always a loving and giving person who wanted all those around her to succeed and do well in life. She would always be the first one to support and help family or friends who were in need, if she was able to do so. Saundra will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor who had a huge smile, gave big hugs and shared her love of life. 

She is survived by her daughter, Marti Vagnone (Mike) and grandsons, Nick, Vince and Anthony; daughter, Teresa Orr (Tom) and grandsons, Emory and Carson; brother, Rocky King (Tina), nephew Bobby King , niece Beth Grubbs (Chad) and their children Banks, Brooklyn and Blakey. 

Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Novant Mint Hill, Novant Hospice doctors and nurses and the staff at Clear Creek of Mint Hill for their dedication and care Saundra received.
