Sue McEntire Dwelle, born on May 24, 1937, in Evanston, Illinois, passed peacefully away on September 10, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Throughout her life, Sue was known for her profound kindness and her ability to make others smile. An avid reader, she enjoyed studying the Bible and found great comfort in its teachings. Her personality was characterized by a light-hearted spirit; she loved to joke around and share laughter with those around her. Additionally, she was a devoted fan of old Westerns, often losing track of time while watching her favorite films featuring the classic heroes of the genre. Sue's affection for her feline companions was boundless, and she took great joy in their company.

Sue's long-standing connection to Central Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, further defined her years. For many, she was a cornerstone of faith and friendship, providing support and warmth to those in her community. She was also a cherished member of the Charlotte Civitan Club.

She leaves behind numerous cousins, along with close friends who held a special place in her heart. Ann Metcalf was a long-term friend and caregiver who provided invaluable companionship and care. Linda Mullis was another dear friend who enriched Sue's life, and Larry G. Powell III, alongside his spouse Catherine, represented a cherished extended family connection.

Sue was preceded in death by her father Henry Grady McEntire and mother Kathryn Warlick. She was also joined in eternal rest by her beloved husbands, Andrew William Haynes and John Myers Dwelle, Sr.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to Joy Dwelle Wyatt for caring for Sue's beloved cats, Christopher and Mary Jane, for the past five years. The kindness and dedication shown by the staff at Waltonwood Cotswold are also appreciated, as they provided support during her final years.

A graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery in Granite Falls, NC, on September 22, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM. This gathering will honor Sue's lovely spirit and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.

Sue McEntire Dwelle will be remembered not only for her gentle heart but also for the joyous moments she shared with her family and friends, adding warmth and humor to the fabric of their lives.
