Sue McEntire Dwelle, a cherished member of the Charlotte community, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, in Charlotte, NC. Born on May 24, 1937, in Evanston, IL, Sue's life was marked by her unwavering spirit, warmth, and love for her family and friends.

A long-time member of Central Church in Charlotte, NC, Sue dedicated herself to her faith, often found reading and studying the Bible. Her friendly demeanor and infectious laugh made her a beloved figure among her peers. Those who knew her often remember her fondness for joking around, her love of old Westerns, and her special affection for her cats.

Sue was deeply involved in her community, serving as a valued member of the Charlotte Civitan Club. Her commitment to service and helping others left an indelible mark on those around her.

Sue is survived by numerous cousins, along with close friends Ann Metcalf, who was also a long-term caregiver, and Linda Mullis. She also shared a special connection with extended family member Larry G. Powell III and his spouse Catherine.

Sue is preceded in death by her father, Henry Grady McEntire; her mother, Kathryn Warlick; and her husbands, Andrew William Haynes and John Myers Dwelle, Sr.

A graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery in Granite Falls, NC, on September 22, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor and remember Sue’s extraordinary life.
