Susan Parker, a woman whose life was a testament to unwavering faith and selfless devotion, passed away on May 20, 2026. Born on December 9, 1956, in Gaffney, South Carolina, Susan’s journey was marked by a profound commitment to those she loved and to her steadfast belief in Jesus Christ.

Susan’s 18-year career at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association was not just a profession but a calling. She found deep meaning in her work on the rapid response team, where her dedication and compassion left an indelible mark. Through these years, she formed lasting friendships with colleagues who became like family, united by a shared mission and inspired by Susan’s gentle strength and kindness.

In her personal life, Susan was a devoted mother and grandmother, and a present comfort to her loved ones, deeply involved in the lives of all she cared for. Her selflessness was evident in every act, every gesture, and every prayer lifted for others. She embodied a love that was quiet yet profound, and carried a faith that never wavered even in the face of life’s challenges.

Susan is lovingly remembered by her son Myrick Parker and his wife Jenna, her daughter Meredith Odom and her husband Aaron, and her son Micah Parker along with his wife Dominique. She was a proud grandmother to Brady, Elliott, and Luke, whose lives she touched with endless warmth. Her brother Steve “Hal” Jefferies and his wife Pam, as well as her sister Jennifer Jefferies, also carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Carolyn Jefferies, whose legacy of love and faith she carried forward.

Susan’s life was a beacon of devotion and grace.  She leaves behind a family bound by love and friends who were honored to call her a part of their lives. Her spirit lives on in the hearts she touched deeply, a testament to a life lived fully in faith and compassion.

Susan’s memorial service will be held at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, located at 4350 Westmont Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina 28217 on Wednesday, May 27 at 3 pm.
