Thomas Franklin Pickler
Thomas Franklin Pickler of Locust, NC died February 3, 2024, at the age of 86. Tom was born on May 10,
1937, in Albemarle, NC. He was a graduate of New London High School, Class of 1955. He attended
Pfeiffer College 1956-1960 and received a B.S. Degree in Business in 1960. He was a member of the
National Association of Accountants for many years.
After serving six months active duty in the Army, he began his career with Collins Aikman Corp., Thurston
Motor Lines, and Southern Knitwear Mills. He spent 21 years with Duff-Norton Company as a Cost
Accounting Supervisor.
Tom enjoyed playing Tennis and Golf in his earlier years and continued playing golf with special friends.
He joined Morning Star Lutheran Church in 2019 where he served as an Usher and a Greeter. One of
Tom's Goals in Life was to do something to grow Gods Kingdom on this Earth.
Tom was predeceased by his Father, Lloyd P. Pickler and his Mother Agnes Pickler of Albemarle, NC. He
was also predeceased by his Devoted Friend and "Love of His Life" Peggy N. Bass, who he considered to
be an inspiration in his Life. Tom is survived by his brother James W. Pickler of Mint Hill, NC along with
numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Peggy Bass' children, grandchildren, and great-
grandchildren whom he loved as his own.
The service to honor his life will be held at Morning Star Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM on February 9, 2024, at
12509 Idlewild Road, Matthews NC 28105.
Internment will be immediately after the service at Sunset Memorial Garden at 8901 Lawyers Road , Mint Hill, NC 28227.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in
