Vincent Alan Holloman, born on November 17, 1946, in Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Matthews, North Carolina. He lived a life dedicated to excellence in his career and cherished moments with his family and friends.
Vincent had a commendable 26-year career as a marketing director for Mercantile Stores, where he was known for his innovative ideas and leadership. After that, he continued to make a significant impact in the community by serving as the Small Business Director at South Piedmont Community College for 10 years. His educational accomplishments included earning a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of South Carolina, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth.
In addition to his professional achievements, Vincent was an avid reader and a passionate book collector. His love for books enriched his life and provided a wellspring of knowledge and entertainment. He also adored his dog, Jingles, who brought him joy and companionship throughout his life.
Vincent is survived by his beloved spouse, Gwen Powell Holloman; his daughters, Stephanie Holloman Sorenson and Meredith Holloman Fuzia; sons-in-law, Stephen Sorenson and Scott Fuzia; and his cherished grandchildren, Brooke Sorenson, Lauren Sorenson, Jackson Fuzia, Diana Fuzia and his brother Harry Holloman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Erin Dale Holloman.
A visitation to honor Vincent will be held on March 11, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Stephenson & Gaskin Funeral Services located at 14617 Lawyers Rd, #B in Matthews, NC 28104. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate a life well-lived, filled with memories that will be cherished forever.
