Walter Swanson Williams

Walter Swanson Williams, 91, of Charlotte, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, August 5, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife, Faye Furr Williams, who he married in 1970. Walter was born May 2, 1926, in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Following high school, he served in the U. S. Army during World War II. For 26 years he was a supervisor with Blythe Construction Company in Charlotte. He loved skydiving and driving his car. Walter was a member of Central Church of God and faithfully attended there prior to succumbing to an extended illness in his latter years. He loved his family and was a proud pawpaw. His immediate family includes his daughter, Francella Awad; a step daughter, Vickie Guthmann and her husband, Richard; two sisters, Mildred Williams and Reba Stevens; three grandchildren. -
